STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL!!!!!!!!

It is again time for the annual Roberts Switch Strawberry Festival.  For those who have not attended this event in previous years, let me explain a little bit about what it is.

It is merely a social event.  A time to visit with family, friends, neighbors.  A time to perhaps meet someone new, or to get to know someone a little better.  That is the purpose.  Now, that said, we are also going to celebrate strawberries.  It is basically a pot-luck but all dishes must have strawberries in them.  Yes, strawberries in salads qualify but the best dishes have strawberries combined with some form of refined sugar.

The big question that always arises is, "when do the local strawberries come in".  Well, they are in.  I confirmed today with Amazing Acres of Fun that they began picking this past week.  They are expecting rain on Monday and Tuesday so they plan to pick again on Wednesday.  Perfect!  They do sell out every day so plan ahead.  Take exit #280 off I-40, then Ditty Road out through Ditty and on to Old Kentucky Road in White County, turn right on Old Kentucky Road and go about 100 yards and Amazing Acres is on the right. 

So come on out, this Saturday, 30 April, noon until......  At the Clavis Barn, 9651 Roberts Road in Roberts Switch.  Hope to see you all there.  I understand Angela is making home-made strawberry ice cream.  Yummy!
